The new bill proposes new options for writing surnames and patronymics:
When writing a surname, the grandfather’s name is added to the father’s name, and the word “uulu” is added for boys, and “kyzy” for girls.
- The surname is written based on the father’s name, to which the word “tegi” and possessive endings are added:
- For boys: “dyn/tyn”, “din/tin”, “dün/tün”
- For girls: “dan/tan”, “den/ten”, “dön/tön”
