Azerbaijan and Armenia to Hold a New Round of Border Delimitation Talks

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that a new round of negotiations on border delimitation between Azerbaijan and Armenia is planned for January.

Aliyev shared this in an interview with Azerbaijani television on Tuesday, reports Kazinform.

“This month (January), on our initiative, the next meeting of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border delimitation commission should take place to continue resolving this issue,” Aliyev stated.

The president added that relevant information has already been communicated to the Armenian side, which did not express significant objections in response.

According to Aliyev, the previously agreed protocol between the delimitation and demarcation commissions of the two countries considers various factors, including security, communication, settlements, historical and environmental aspects.

The meeting plan was also confirmed by the office of Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, who heads the Armenian commission in this area.

“The meeting will take place soon, but the exact date has not yet been agreed,” the office noted.
