One in 10 children worldwide work as child labor

As 20 November World Children’s Day passed yesterday, the reports of international institutions and organizations showed that the world has failed in terms of children’s rights. Almost one in 10 children in child labor.

There are tens of millions of child workers in the supply chain around the world. It is claimed that developed countries such as the European Union, USA, Japan, Norway and Switzerland are the biggest beneficiaries of this labor.

According to a study published by the University of Zurich on September 14, 2022, there are more than 373 million children working instead of playing.

10 million children live as refugees

On the other hand, there are children who have to leave their country which have become refugees or asylum seekers.

More than 2 million children who fled Ukraine only because of the war, became refugees.

About 10 million children around the world live as refugees.

In the report published by Lost in Europe in 2021, it is stated that more than 18,000 migrant children went missing in Europe between 2018 and 2020.

On the other hand, 244 million children between the ages of 6-18 are deprived of one of the most important human rights and freedoms, the right to education.
