Classes Transition to Online Format in Several Regions Due to Severe Weather

In several regions, school classes have been switched to a distance learning format due to weather conditions.

The Department of Education in Karaganda announced that on December 10, 2024, lessons for primary school students (grades 0-4) in the first shift would move to remote learning due to adverse weather conditions.

In Pavlodar, primary preparation groups and grades 1-4 of the first shift will also transition to online learning on December 10, as temperatures drop to -25°C with a wind speed of 1 m/s.

According to the East Kazakhstan Regional Education Department, severe weather, including temperatures as low as -27.4°C, frost, and eastern winds of up to 5 m/s, has led to the transition to online learning in the following areas:

  • Ridder: Grades 0-4 in the first and second shifts.
