Uzbek Woman Sentenced for Stabbing Boyfriend
A court in Uzbekistan has sentenced a young woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend during an argument.
The couple had been in a relationship since 2019, reports Kazinform citing Uznews.uz.
The incident occurred on May 23, 2024, around 7:30 PM, when the couple met in the boyfriend’s car. During their conversation, the man revealed he could not marry her because he intended to marry another woman. He further added that if his parents agreed, he might take a second wife. He then showed her a photo of the bride-to-be on his phone. Enraged by his words, the woman stabbed him four times with a kitchen knife.
The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. The case was reviewed by the Karshi City Criminal Court.
The court found the defendant guilty and she was sentenced to 3 years and 11 months of imprisonment under Article 57 of the Criminal Code.
