Anev 2024: Turkic World Cultural Capital Concludes with a Grand Ceremony

The closing ceremony for Anev, the 2024 Turkic World Cultural Capital, was held at the majestic "Türkmen Ak Öýi" in Nowruz Valley, Ahal province. The event featured performances by master artists from the Turkic world.

Celebrating Culture and Brotherhood
The ceremony brought together key figures, including Mihricemal Mammedova, Deputy Chair of the Turkmenistan Cabinet of Ministers, and Sultan Raev, Secretary General of TÜRKSOY. Representatives from TÜRKSOY member countries added significance to the event.

Speakers highlighted the cultural events held throughout the year, including concerts, exhibitions, and forums showcasing the traditional and modern arts of Turkic peoples. Sultan Raev emphasized the success of the initiative in promoting Turkic culture globally and expressed gratitude to Turkmen leaders for their support.

Art and Friendship: The Gala Concert
The gala concert featured a rich program, with performances by artists from across the Turkic world and vibrant displays by dance groups from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The traditional “Küşdepdi” dance symbolized unity and cultural heritage.

Anev Passes the Torch to Aktau
During the ceremony, the Turkic World Cultural Capital symbol was handed over to Aktau, Kazakhstan, the 2025 capital. The event concluded with the song “Turkmenistan – Land of Friendship and Brotherhood,” leaving a lasting impression of unity and shared heritage.
