As part of the festival, where many theatres from different regions of the Turkic world took to the stage, invited theatres from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Karakalpakstan, Tatarstan, Uzbekistan and Türkiye also met with art lovers from Shymkent, TuraNews.kz reports.
At the closing ceremony, which was held with the participation of the Shymkent Akimat and the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, on behalf of the Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Rayev, medals were awarded to theatre artists, and the jury, chaired by the famous Kazakh theatre figure, theatre and film director, screenwriter, teacher and actor Asanali Ashimov, awarded theatres in various nominations.
Secretary General Sultan Rayev, whose message was read out by a TURKSOY representative at the closing ceremony, expressed gratitude to the Mukhtar Auezov Theatre, the Zhumat Shanin Theatre of the Shymkent Region and the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan for their participation in organizing the festival and emphasized the importance of such festivals for the development of theatrical art in the Turkic world.
Continuing his message, Rayev stated that TURKSOY is the heart and blessed home of the culture and art of the Turkic world, and added: “TURKSOY will always participate in and support events that demonstrate traditions and cultural values. Today, our theatrical art is able to compete with the world. As can be seen from this festival, the theater audience of the Turkic world provides performances with full houses. In order for this process to take place on an ongoing basis, it is necessary to bring theaters closer to each other, constantly rotate them, communicate with the audience, get to know countries and cities, and this is the mission that these festivals fulfill.” Within the framework of the festival, the award for the best male role was received by Bazarbay Nazarymbetov for his role as an old man in the play “Duck Louvre” presented by the Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theater named after Berdakh.
“Best Actress” was recognized as Baktygul Asanova for her role as a mother in the play “Face to Face” of the Kyrgyz State Youth Theater “Flight”.
“Best Supporting Actor” was Marat Khabibullin, Atna State Tatar Drama Theater named after Gabdulla Tukay for his role as a father in the play “Spring under the Snow”. The “Best Supporting Actress” award was given to Sevinch Kurbanova for her role as Ayhan in the play “Game of Clowns” of the State Youth Theater of Uzbekistan “Diydor”.
Firat Onur Deniz was recognized as the “Best Male Character” for his role as an old man in the play “The Old Man and the Sea” of the Alanya City Theater; Moldir Ziyayeva was recognized as the “Best Female Character” for her role as Zhanbike in the play “Bloody Century” of the Shymkent City Academic Kazakh Drama Theater named after Zhumat Shanin.
A special honorary award of the Shymkent Akimat was presented to the Azerbaijani theater artist Shovgi Huseynov.
The award for “Best Cast” was received by the play “Ulpan” of the Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth named after Gabit Musirepov.
Shamil Diikanbayev was recognized as the “Best Director” for the play “Face to Face” of the Kyrgyz State Youth Theater “Flight”.
The most prestigious award of the festival, “Best Performance”, was awarded to the performance “Leyli and Majnun” staged by the Samarkand Regional Musical and Drama Theater.
At the closing ceremony of the festival, medals and certificates specially sent by the Secretary General Raev were presented by the representative of TURKSOY.
The ceremony ended with a concert of Kazakh artists.
