Erdogan Open to Tech Collaboration with Elon Musk

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his willingness to collaborate with tech billionaire Elon Musk in the technology sector, highlighting the potential for joint projects.

Speaking to reporters during his return flight from Baku, Erdogan reflected on his “friendly discussion” with Musk during their meeting last year at the Turkish House in New York, coinciding with the UN General Assembly.

Erdogan emphasized Musk’s dedication to technological innovation, describing him as a “tech enthusiast” with a serious commitment to advancing space and technology. “Technology is not developed alone; it requires collaboration,” Erdogan remarked, signaling openness to potential partnerships with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO if opportunities align.

The Turkish leader also referenced Musk’s involvement in U.S. governance, as the billionaire recently took a government role under the Trump administration aimed at improving efficiency. Erdogan noted Musk’s vote for Trump in the recent election but focused on his contributions to the tech and space sectors.

During their earlier meeting, Erdogan introduced Musk to his son, further illustrating the cordial nature of their interaction. The President expressed optimism about future collaborations, indicating that Turkey is ready to act should such opportunities arise.
