Kyrgyzstan Enacts Fines for Employers Failing to Meet Insurance Obligations
Kyrgyzstan has introduced stricter penalties for employers who fail to comply with mandatory insurance requirements for workers at high-risk production sites. President signed the legislation.
Under the new amendments, violations of the “Law on Compulsory Insurance of Civil Liability of an Employer for Harm to Employee Health or Life” or the “Law on Compulsory Insurance for Organizations Operating Hazardous Production Facilities” will incur fines. Individuals who breach these requirements will face a penalty of 30 calculated indicators (3,000 soms), while companies will be fined 130 calculated indicators (13,000 soms).
This development follows earlier announcements about potential fines for defamation and insults in the media and online platforms. Additionally, Kyrgyzstan plans to increase accountability for government officials who mishandle citizens’ appeals, tightening regulations across various sectors.
