Kyrgyzstan Imposes Moratorium on Airline Registration and Operator Certificates
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has imposed a moratorium on the registration and certification of new air carriers, the presidential press service said on Monday.
Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov has issued a decree enacting a temporary moratorium on registering new airlines and issuing operator certificates. This measure, aimed at bolstering the nation’s aviation sector, seeks to improve transparency, safety, and adherence to international standards within Kyrgyzstan’s airline industry.
Under this decree, the State Civil Aviation Agency will review the operations of airlines that conduct flights exclusively outside the country or that have aircraft stationed abroad for over a month. Any airline found not meeting the established requirements will have its registration and certification revoked. The Cabinet of Ministers has also been tasked with ensuring all relevant government decisions align with this new directive.
