Türkiye Calls on Turkic World to Take Strong Stand on Gaza Crisis
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged Turkic nations to take a firm stance on the ongoing crisis in Gaza, as he addressed the 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Bishkek.
“Türkiye condemns the brutality and inhumane actions in Gaza,” Erdogan stated, calling on the Turkic world to show a unified and decisive response to the violence. He emphasized that the international community faces a critical test in its efforts to halt what he described as genocide in the Palestinian territories, especially in Gaza.
Erdogan also addressed the situation in the South Caucasus, expressing hope that the sacrifices made by Azerbaijan to achieve recent gains will be solidified through a lasting peace agreement.
In discussing the broader goals of the Turkic world, Erdogan reflected on the region’s achievements despite numerous challenges. “We have come a long way, but our journey is far from over. We are committed to making the next era the ‘Century of the Turkic World,'” he affirmed.
The summit, which gathered leaders from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and observer nation Hungary, focused on strengthening unity and cooperation across the Turkic world.
