Bishkek Named Digital Capital of the Turkic World for 2025
During the 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov announced that Bishkek will hold the title of “Digital Capital of the Turkic World” in 2025. President Japarov expressed gratitude for the support of this initiative, emphasizing Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to advancing digital integration within the Turkic community.
Japarov outlined key areas where Kyrgyzstan seeks to lead digital transformation efforts. This includes simplifying e-commerce, transport, and logistics processes, as well as establishing mutual recognition of digital standards and certificates across member states. He highlighted plans to facilitate the mutual recognition of electronic signatures and promote joint research on digital technologies, particularly in public services and artificial intelligence, as part of Kyrgyzstan’s OTS chairmanship.
Held on November 6, the summit focused on the theme “Strengthening the Turkic World: Economic Integration, Sustainable Development, Digital Future, and Security for All.” Leaders from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and observer country Hungary participated, discussing strategies for economic collaboration and shared digital advancement.
Bishkek’s designation as the digital capital signifies an important step towards achieving a unified digital space among Turkic states, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to a digital future and deeper integration across its member nations.
