This announcement was made by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov at a press conference following talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who visited Bishkek for a state visit, as reported by Kazinform.
“I am very grateful to President Erdoğan for his decision to cancel Kyrgyzstan’s external debt to Türkiye,” said Sadyr Japarov.
It was noted that Türkiye’s forgiveness of the debt is part of efforts to promote “green economy” initiatives.
During the visit, 19 bilateral agreements were signed aimed at expanding strategic cooperation between the two countries and further strengthening intergovernmental relations.
It is worth mentioning that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Bishkek on November 4 for a state visit, where he was welcomed by President Sadyr Japarov at Manas International Airport.
On November 6, the Turkish leader will participate in the Turkic States Organization summit.
