A Solemn Reception Held in Astana for the 101st Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye

A formal reception was held in Kazakhstan's capital to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye, organized by the Turkish Embassy.

High-ranking guests attended the event, including the Chairman of the Mazhilis, Erlan Koshanov, Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev, as well as senators and deputies, representatives from the Ministry of Defense, and ambassadors from various countries.

The reception began with a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the TUSAŞ terrorist attack. Following this, the Kazakh military orchestra performed the national anthems of both countries, and a video message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was shown.

In his speech, Erlan Koshanov emphasized Kazakhstan’s appreciation for Türkiye as the first country to recognize its independence. He recalled the joint celebrations of the previous year and noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two nations.

“The roots of our friendship run deep. Our shared history and cultural heritage confirm this. Kazakhstan and Türkiye are developing their relations, and our cooperation has evolved into an expanded strategic partnership,” Koshanov stated.

Turkish Ambassador Kapudju expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for its support following the terrorist attack on TUSAŞ and stated Türkiye’s commitment to continue the fight against terrorism. He emphasized Türkiye’s pride in its historical ties with Kazakhstan and its intention to work on increasing trade volumes exceeding $10 billion.

The reception concluded with a performance by the Kazakh group “Abıroy” and a display of Turkish cuisine.
