Leading News Agencies of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Aim to Strengthen Cooperation
The news agencies "UzA" and "Kabar" plan to deepen their collaboration in line with modern requirements to enhance relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Yesterday, Uzbekistan held a significant political event – the election of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils. In light of this, media representatives from several countries visited Uzbekistan to monitor the electoral process and share information. Among them was Mederbek Shermetaliev, director of the Kyrgyz Republic’s National Information Agency “Kabar,” who made an official visit to the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA).
During the meeting, both sides discussed the importance of developing ties between the leading news agencies of the two countries in accordance with today’s standards.
As part of the discussions, an agreement was reached to establish a partnership to expand the scope of information exchange, improve the professional skills of employees, and an updated Memorandum of Understanding was signed.
“Today, it is crucial to spread fair and reliable information about the reforms underway in the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan,” noted Mederbek Shermetaliev, director of the “Kabar” agency. “In this regard, our agreement to strengthen cooperation with the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan was a timely and important step. I would like to add that the citizens of Uzbekistan are very actively involved in political processes. Taking this opportunity, I wish the brotherly Uzbek people peace, prosperity, and well-being.”
As the primary state news agency in Kyrgyzstan, “Kabar” regularly publishes materials related to life in Uzbekistan.
