Kazakhstan-Mongolia Business Council Holds First Meeting Led by Digital Development Minister Zhaslan Madiev

Ulaanbaatar hosted the first meeting of the Kazakhstan-Mongolia Business Council as part of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Mongolia.

The event brought together key business and government leaders from both nations to discuss priority areas for collaboration, according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry.

In his opening address, Digital Development Minister Zhaslan Madiev emphasized the main areas of digital cooperation, including the creation of an innovation ecosystem, support for startup projects, GovTech implementation, and aerospace initiatives.

Kazakhstan presented its experience in developing the Astana Hub, an international technology park that has attracted over 1,500 residents, including 436 international companies. The country also shared its success in establishing IT hubs abroad to support Central Eurasian startups in reaching global markets.

Notably, Kazakh e-scooter rental startup *Jet* has entered the Mongolian market with over 6,000 scooters. Meanwhile, Mongolian startups are actively participating in Astana Hub’s acceleration programs. For instance, Fibo Group, a Mongolian startup, successfully completed the Google for Startups acceleration program at Astana Hub, gaining access to international expertise and support from top experts to aid its growth and global expansion.

A key topic of cooperation was the export of Kazakhstan’s eGov digital government system, which would allow Mongolia to benefit from Kazakhstan’s advances in digitizing public services, with over 90% of government services already provided online in Kazakhstan.
