Kazakhstan Celebrates Librarian’s Day

Today, Kazakhstan marks Librarian's Day, a celebration of the enduring relevance of the librarian profession, even in the era of the Internet and digital resources. While technology has transformed access to information, libraries have evolved into intellectual hubs where visitors can continue to expand their knowledge and nurture their creativity.

A library is more than just a repository of books—it is a space where books take the place of smartphones, and librarians serve as guides to the world of knowledge, helping people explore a vast heritage of historical, cultural, and scientific resources.

With approximately 12,000 libraries across the country and around 73 million books in their collections, Kazakhstan’s libraries remain key institutions in promoting education and cultural development.

Citizens are encouraged to delve into books—the true sources of fresh ideas, new perspectives, and untapped opportunities.

Happy Librarian’s Day!
