Turkmenistan and Pakistan to Strengthen Economic Cooperation

Turkmenistan and Pakistan have identified economic partnership as a key priority for enhancing their cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, this was announced following a meeting between Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari during the Turkmen delegation’s visit as honored guests at the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Both sides acknowledged that their partnership holds significant potential for expanding trade and diversifying mutually beneficial relations.

Additionally, they focused on previously reached agreements, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts on projects such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line.

The parties also noted that the preparation of bilateral documents is complete, ensuring the successful implementation of the aforementioned projects.
