DPRK Officially Rejects Unification with South Korea
North Korea has announced that its new constitution will officially designate South Korea as a "hostile state," effectively abandoning any plans for unification with Seoul. This confirmation came from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Thursday, October 17.
The report states that the recent destruction of the northern sections of roads and railways that once connected North and South Korea was described as “an inevitable and legitimate measure” aligned with the new constitutional definition of South Korea as a hostile entity.
KCNA did not provide additional details regarding the amendments to the DPRK constitution.
