Kyrgyzfilm Announces Script Competition for Chyngyz Aitmatov’s 100th Anniversary

Kyrgyzfilm, the film studio named after Tolomush Okeyev, has launched an open competition for the best scripts for full-length feature films based on the works of the renowned Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.

The competition invites participation from screenwriters and playwrights, with each author allowed to submit only one script. The submissions must be adaptations of Aitmatov’s literary works. Creative works will be accepted until November 15.

Organizers have specified that scripts should avoid content involving alcohol consumption, smoking, violations of national customs, and insults.

This competition is part of the preparations for the 100th anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov, which will be celebrated in 2028.
