Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Visits Luxembourg for Bilateral Talks

During his visit, Nurtleu met with Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel. The discussions focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation, including financial technologies, sustainable development through green energy, pharmaceuticals, and transport infrastructure projects. Both sides expressed a commitment to enhancing economic ties and expanding opportunities for the business communities in their respective countries.

Prime Minister Frieden highlighted Luxembourg’s view of Kazakhstan as a reliable partner in Central Asia, noting the significant potential for business cooperation. He reiterated his willingness to support Kazakhstan in modernizing key sectors of its economy and adopting advanced technologies.

Nurtleu, in turn, emphasized Luxembourg’s importance as a partner for Kazakhstan within the European Union, citing that since 2005, Luxembourg has invested approximately $2.9 billion into the Kazakh economy.

The discussions also covered Kazakhstan’s relationship with the European Union, focusing on expanding trade and economic ties as well as security and stability in Central Asia. Both parties exchanged views on pressing international issues.

Foreign Minister Bettel acknowledged Kazakhstan’s efforts to bolster regional security, noting that both nations share similar perspectives on global challenges. He expressed Luxembourg’s readiness to enhance cooperation with Kazakhstan on international security and sustainable development, highlighting the potential for joint initiatives within the UN and other international organizations aimed at fostering peace and stability.

At the conclusion of the meetings, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations at all levels and actively collaborating within international organizations to tackle key regional and global challenges.
