The number of bank cards in circulation has increased in Tajikistan
As of the end of July 2024, 7,698,375 payment cards were issued in Tajikistan, which is 29 percent more than in the same period last year, when their number was 5,951,999.
As of the reporting date of National Bank of Tajikistan, 14.176 million transactions were made using bank cards, of which 7.677 million were cash withdrawals and 6.499 million were payments for goods and services by cards.
There are 7,470,238 bank card holders in the country. There are 7,746 POS terminals and 2,746 ATMs installed in Tajikistan.
As of the end of July 2024, there were 63 credit financial institutions operating in Tajikistan, including 14 traditional banks, 1 Islamic bank, 1 non-bank credit institution, 19 microcredit deposit organizations, 3 microcredit organizations and 25 microcredit funds.
