Kazakhstani National Arrested in Uzbekistan for Drug Smuggling
Three men were detained by border guards in Uzbekistan's Surkhandarya region on suspicion of attempting to smuggle drugs into the country.
The State Security Service of Uzbekistan reported that over 20 kg of opium and hashish were transported to the border from Tajikistan.
Additionally, a man was arrested in the Muzrabad district for receiving nearly two kilograms of opium and more than four kilograms of hashish, which were hidden by Afghan drug couriers. During this operation, a citizen of Kazakhstan was also apprehended in Termez while attempting to collect the drugs.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainees, who are currently in custody.
