Visa Card Usage in Kyrgyzstan Surges by 1.5 Times in 2024

As of June 30, 2024, the number of Visa payment cards in circulation in Kyrgyzstan reached 4,249,029, marking a significant increase of 1.5 times compared to the same period last year, when 2,682,465 cards were in use.

Visa now accounts for 53.2 percent of all bank cards in circulation in the country, a notable rise from 43.96 percent at the end of the second quarter of last year. The majority of Visa cards, 3,218,726, are registered in the capital city Bishkek, while the Naryn region has the fewest, with 39,135 cards.

Overall, the total number of bank payment cards in Kyrgyzstan reached 7.984 million by the end of the second quarter, reflecting a 30.8 percent increase compared to last year and a 15.9 percent growth since the beginning of 2024.
