Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Defense Ministers Sign 2025 Bilateral Cooperation Plan

The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan has reported that on September 24, a military delegation led by Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, arrived in Baku at the invitation of Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan.

During their visit to the Baku Expo Center, Kazakh servicemen explored the latest developments in naval, air, and land forces equipment, as well as security innovations showcased at the 5th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition (ADEX).

On the sidelines of the event, Colonel General Zhaksylykov met with his Azerbaijani counterpart to discuss bilateral military cooperation on topics of mutual interest. The Kazakh Defense Minister expressed gratitude for the invitation and highlighted the positive growth in defense relations between the two countries. He noted that over 30 joint events had been conducted this year, including Azerbaijan’s participation in the “Birlestik-2024” operational-tactical exercise and the “Altyn Kyran-2024” tactical-special exercise.

Following the talks, both defense ministers signed a bilateral military cooperation plan for 2025 and a memorandum between their respective national defense universities.
