He highlighted that the country’s GDP has already doubled, surpassing $100 billion for the first time, with plans to further grow the economy within the next five years.
The ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aim to elevate the country into the ranks of upper-middle-income nations, Mirziyoyev stated. He also underscored the significance of hosting the AIIB meeting, which reflects Uzbekistan’s strong partnership and successful cooperation with the bank.
In his address, the president touched on pressing global challenges, including climate change and geopolitical tensions, which are impacting international logistics and trade routes.
The ninth annual AIIB Board of Governors meeting, held on September 25-26 in Samarkand, focuses on the theme “Creating Sustainable Infrastructure for All.” It brings together representatives from AIIB member countries and business leaders to discuss infrastructure development and investment opportunities.
