Annual Session of Turkmenistan’s People’s Council Chaired by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov

In honor of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, deputies of the National Assembly gathered at the Maslahat Palace for the annual session of the People's Council, chaired by the national leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The meeting was attended by representatives from all sectors of society and different generations, including President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, ministers, deputies, and representatives of state institutions and organizations.

The main focus of the meeting was the development direction of Turkmenistan in a new era. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reviewed the past year’s achievements, noting that the country’s gross domestic product grew by over 6 percent. He emphasized the steady improvement of financial systems and announced that the Financial Market Development Strategy will be implemented by 2030.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also highlighted the success of ongoing social and economic development programs in Turkmenistan, reiterating the nation’s principle of “The state is for the people.”

During the session, achievements from the past year were explained, and priorities were set to ensure the country’s further development and the well-being of the Turkmen people. Representatives from all generations and sectors of society shared their opinions and proposals, based on national traditions.

According to the “Program for Socio-Economic Development and Investment of Turkmenistan for 2024,” $11 billion in investments are planned for the country’s economy by the end of this year.
