Kazakh Foreign Minister Attends Future Summit at UN Headquarters
As part of the high-level week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, a two-day Future Summit themed “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow” commenced at the United Nations headquarters. The Kazakh delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, participated in the event.
Initiated by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the summit aims to address both existing and emerging global challenges through collaborative solutions. During the opening remarks, Guterres emphasized that the complexities of the 21st century require innovative, comprehensive, and inclusive approaches, drawing from the experiences of humanity as a whole.
“I called for this summit to consider deep reforms to enhance the legitimacy, fairness, and effectiveness of global institutions, grounded in the values of the UN Charter,” the Secretary-General stated.
The summit welcomed heads of state, foreign ministers from UN member nations, and representatives from international organizations and civil society.
On the first day of his visit, Minister Nurtleu engaged in bilateral discussions with his counterparts from Serbia, Albania, Angola, and Mongolia. They explored the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including politics, trade, economics, culture, and humanitarian efforts. The officials also exchanged views on pressing global issues and committed to continuing constructive dialogue in all areas of collaboration.
