Ruling Party Secures Majority in Azerbaijan’s Parliamentary Elections

The New Azerbaijan Party is set to occupy 69 out of 125 seats in Azerbaijan's parliament, according to exit poll results.

Following snap elections on September 1, the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, led by President Ilham Aliyev, secured a strong majority in the country’s parliament, as reported by the Center for Sociological Research (CSR).

During a press conference on September 1, CSR Director Natalya Isayeva revealed that exit polls were conducted at 150 polling stations across 75 constituencies, with 136,520 voters participating.

The New Azerbaijan Party achieved a decisive victory, gaining the highest number of votes in 45 of the 75 constituencies surveyed, which represents 60% of the total votes.
