Kyrgyz Olympic Team Honored in Bishkek Ceremony

A ceremony honoring the Kyrgyz Olympic team was held in Bishkek, with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov in attendance.

During his speech, President Japarov congratulated the athletes on their successful participation in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris, where they achieved a historic milestone by winning six medals—the most ever for independent Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz team secured 6 medals at the Paris Olympics: 2 silver medals were won by freestyle wrestler Meerim Zhumanazarova and boxer Seyitbek uulu Munarbek, while 4 bronze medals were earned by wrestlers Aisuluu Tynybekova, Akzhol Makhmudov, Zholaman Sharshenbekov, and Uzur Dzhusupbekov.

In total, 16 athletes from Kyrgyzstan participated in the Games.
