Tajikistan and China Plan New Railway Construction
The two parties agreed that specialists, engineers, and designers will first conduct studies before making a final decision on the railway construction.
Tajikistan and China are set to discuss the construction of two railway lines: Spitamen-Istaravshan and Spitamen-Istiklol, totaling 171 kilometers in length. This discussion took place between Rajabba Ahmadzoda, the Chairman of the Sughd region, and a team of Chinese experts led by Chen He, President of the Beijing Science, Technology and Research Institute, according to KHOVAR agency.
The construction of these railways is seen as vital for Tajikistan’s economy. Once operational, the railways are expected to significantly boost economic development in the region.
