Ethnic Kazakh took the lead at the Beijing Marathon
At the marathon held on November 6 in Beijing city of China, an ethnic Kazakh Eleubek Kuanuly became the champion, Kazinform reports with reference to the website of the Chinese newspaper Guangming Daily.
The Beijing Marathon which is known as well as the “National Marathon” has been held for 40th times this year in China. The event one of largest-scale event this year resumed again after a long pandemic period.
At the running marathon which started from Beijing’s Tiananmen Square and ended at Olympia City Park, Eleubek Kuanuly managed to finish it in 2 hours 14 minutes 34 seconds.
The Beijing Marathon, which received the status of a championship within the framework of international athletics federations, has been held since 1981. In 2019, 160 thousand participants were registered to participate in the Beijing Marathon. Due to the strict lockdown this year, the number of participants in the marathon was limited and only residents of Beijing over 20 years old were allowed to participate. However, this year 30,000 people took part in the competition.
