Yulia Putintseva Defeats Eight-Time Grand Slam Champion
Yulia Putintseva has advanced to the third round of Wimbledon for the first time in her career.
In the second round, the Kazakh player defeated the 2020 Olympic champion and eight-time Grand Slam doubles winner, Czech Katerina Siniakova (ranked 36th in WTA), with a score of 6-0, 4-6, 6-2.
Putintseva’s next opponent will be the winner of the match between Iga Swiatek (ranked 1st in WTA, Poland) and Petra Martic (ranked 85th in WTA, Croatia).
