Turkic States to Simplify International Combined Transport

Senators of the Republic of Kazakhstan recently approved an agreement aimed at simplifying international combined freight transport among the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States.

During a plenary meeting on June 20, 2024, Senate deputies ratified the agreement, which now awaits Prwsident Tokayev’s signature.

Senate deputy Amangeldi Nugmanov presented the document, stating that its purpose is to enhance transit and transport capabilities and boost trade and economic relations among the member states.

“The agreement promotes the development of modern railway, water, and road transport systems. It ensures the preliminary exchange of information to speed up customs procedures for trains and introduces digital technologies for cargo,” Nugmanov highlighted.

The new law will simplify procedures for international combined transport and increase the volume of cargo transported by road, rail, and sea between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States
