Almaty Hosts Discussion on Prospects for Cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States
On June 1, 2024, the 2nd informal meeting of assistants/advisers to the presidents of member states of the Organization of Turkic States on international affairs convened in Almaty.
During the meeting, Yerzhan Kazykhan, head of the Kazakh delegation, provided updates on Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the Organization of Turkic States. He highlighted upcoming events in Kazakhstan, including ministerial meetings on human resources, justice, and transport, along with a forum of supreme judges.
Kazykhan extended an invitation to actively participate in the 5th World Nomad Games, slated for September 2024 in Astana.
Discussions also centered on cooperation in the realms of green economy, transport and logistics development, and the institutionalization of the Organization’s Secretariat to bolster its authority on the international stage.
Participants emphasized the importance of maintaining regular communication to enhance the Organization’s activities, as well as thorough preparation for forthcoming summits in Shusha and Bishkek later in the year.
Additionally, E. Kazykhan held bilateral meetings with Organization Secretary General K. Omuraliyev and Azerbaijani Presidential Assistant on Foreign Policy H. Hajiyev. Talks encompassed current bilateral and multilateral affairs, strategies for enhancing transport and logistics routes, and fortifying trade and economic cooperation.
