Kazakhstan National Team Advances to Final in World Cup Bullet Shooting Competition

The World Cup in bullet shooting kicked off yesterday in Baku, with reports from the press service of the Sports Development Directorate of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On the opening day of the competition, in the qualifications for the 10-meter pistol shooting in the mixed category, Kazakhstan-2 secured a spot in the finals. The duo of Eldar Imankulov and Valeria Popelova clinched second place with a score of 578 points. Tomorrow, they will face off against the Turkish pair of Simal Yilmaz and Ismail Keles.

Meanwhile, in the same event, Kazakhstan-1 represented by Valery Rakhimzhan and Irina Yunusmetova, secured 6th place but failed to progress further. Despite scoring the same number of points as China-2 and Ukraine-1 teams (577), our athletes narrowly missed out on additional criteria.

It’s worth noting that this tournament holds significance as a rating event for bullet guns, including rifles and pistols.

In Baku, Kazakhstan is represented by 21 athletes, defending the honor of the country amidst fierce competition. A total of 699 shooters from 84 countries are vying for top honors in the event.
