he Department of City Planning and Urbanism of Almaty has initiated the removal of signs and poster banners that do not meet the city’s design standards.
The code, effective since March 2023, emphasizes architectural harmony and color coordination.
“The owners are being notified to remove unauthorized advertising. This process aims not only to enhance the aesthetics of the urban landscape but also to reduce visual clutter on city streets. Together with the community and entrepreneurs, we are reshaping our cityscape, free from intrusive advertising and unsightly elements,” stated the Department of City Planning and Urbanism.
Businesses are urged to comply voluntarily, with new facilities required to meet the code’s standards. This effort is part of a broader campaign to beautify the city, which also includes cleaning and removal of unauthorized advertising.
