Over 25,000 Volunteers Mobilized Across Kazakhstan Amidst Flooding

Following the recent floods across the country, more than 25,000 volunteers have sprung into action across all regions to provide assistance to those affected.

Their primary focus lies in offering hot meals, warm clothing, and shelter to the affected population, with ongoing efforts to ensure access to essential medications for residents in need. Aibek Dosymbetov, the head of the department for government interaction within the National Volunteer Network, disclosed these developments at the CCS briefing.

“Organized teams of volunteers are actively engaged in delivering hot meals to rescuers and personnel on the ground. Emergency helplines have been established across all 20 regions, while collection centers for humanitarian aid are being set up, dispatching aid to the affected areas,” Dosymbetov outlined.

He further elaborated that over 550 tons of humanitarian aid have been gathered nationwide, with 370 tons already distributed directly to those in need. The diverse services provided by the volunteers encompass aiding individuals impacted by the flooding in immediate disaster zones. Additionally, volunteers in the southern regions are dedicating their efforts to collecting, sorting, and dispatching humanitarian aid to communities requiring assistance.
