Another Earthquake Strikes Kyrgyzstan
On March 20, at 6:03 local time, an earthquake shook the Kyrgyz Republic once again.
According to initial reports from the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, the earthquake measured 3.5 on the 12-point MSK-64 scale, with a magnitude of Mpv=3.8 (energy class K=9.1). The epicenter was located within Kyrgyzstan’s borders, specifically 15 kilometers southwest of Nura village and 18 kilometers southwest of Ikizyak village. The quake originated 137 kilometers southeast of Osh city.
The intensity of the tremors in Nura and Ikizyak villages reached 3 on the scale, while in Irkeshtam and Kek-Suu, it was recorded at 2.5 points.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and assessing any potential damage caused by the earthquake.
