The courier profession remains one of the most in-demand in Russia, leading to a surge in salary offers. This year, the average salary for couriers soared to a historic high of 112,500 rubles ($1.229 USD).
Maria Ignatova, Head of Marketing Research at hh.ru, highlighted the positive trend in courier demand over the past 4-5 years. She noted that in February to early March, the median salary offered to couriers skyrocketed to 112,500 rubles, up from 87,200 rubles ($952 USD) just a year ago. Ignatova emphasized the fierce competition for couriers, as employers are now willing to offer double the median expected salary for the profession, which currently stands at 50,200 rubles ($548 USD).
According to Ignatova, hh.ru recorded 29,700 open vacancies for couriers in Russia at the beginning of 2024. Logistics companies, b2b delivery service operators, retail chains, and IT companies, including marketplaces and food tech firms, are among the leading hirers of couriers, accounting for over half of all relevant job openings in recent years.
