Uzbekistan Produces Historical Film on Zhalantos Bahadur

Uzbekistan recently completed production on a historical film chronicling the life of Zhalantos Bahadur, the esteemed commander and strategist credited with founding Registan in Samarkand.

The project was initiated by the personal decree of Uzbekistan’s President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Scheduled for release in March, the film aims to shed light on the remarkable legacy of Zhalantos Bahadur, s reported by “ztb_media”.

Zhalantos Bahadur Seytkululy (1576-1656), as per Kazakh sources, was born in the southern region of modern Kazakhstan, belonging to the ancestral nomadic lineage of the Kazakh Tortkara clan. Throughout his life, he distinguished himself as a valiant warrior, serving as the emir of Samarkand and maintaining familial ties with Aiteke bi.

Despite his significant historical contributions, Zhalantos Bahadur’s exact ethnic background remains a topic of scholarly debate, with historians pondering whether he was of Kazakh, Uzbek, or Kyrgyz descent.
