Amidst a solemn ceremony at the Milli Mejlis (Parliament), President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan was inaugurated for his fifth term, following his victory in the extraordinary presidential election

The event, which took place on February 14, witnessed President Aliyev taking the oath of office, pledging allegiance to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and committing to safeguard the nation’s independence, territorial integrity, and serve its people with honor and dignity.

In a symbolic gesture, President Aliyev placed his hand on the Constitution of Azerbaijan, reciting the oath of office before witnesses. Furthermore, he took an oath upon the Quran, underscoring his commitment to upholding the highest principles of governance and leadership.

Addressing the attendees, President Aliyev delivered a speech reflecting on his previous terms in office and outlining his vision for the future development and prosperity of Azerbaijan. His inauguration marked a significant moment in the nation’s political landscape, reaffirming the continuity of leadership and stability under his administration.

The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan formally approved Ilham Aliyev’s presidency on February 13, based on the conclusions drawn by the Central Election Commission (CEC) regarding the results of the extraordinary presidential elections. The final results, announced by the Central Election Commission on February 11, declared President Aliyev as the victor with an overwhelming majority, securing 92.12% of the votes cast.
