Kazakhstan: Opportunity to Win Multimillion-Dollar Jackpot with a Single Lottery Ticket

Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Miras Tolebaev, elaborated on these fundamental differences during a discussion at the press meeting in Central communications service.
He emphasized that the lottery operator’s role is primarily to establish a prize pool and oversee the drawing process. In draw lotteries, the prize pool is funded by participants and is awarded to the holder of the winning ticket or, in the absence of a winner, is directed to the state. The drawing events are broadcast live on television, ensuring transparency.
To ensure fairness, instant lottery tickets are manufactured abroad, such as in the UK, preventing the lottery operator from having prior knowledge of winning combinations. This process is closely monitored by international organizations, a prerequisite for membership in such organizations.
All lottery drawings are meticulously recorded on a centralized platform, with results stored in a comprehensive database accessible to the Ministry. Unlike slot machines, lottomatic terminals operate centrally and cannot be altered at the local level, ensuring the integrity of the system. Field agents are devoid of access to winning combination generators.
In Kazakhstan, over 40 lottery products are available, including instant and draw variants. Vice Minister Tolebaev also delineated the differences between traditional lotteries, lotto clubs, and Lotomatic terminals, providing clarity on the various options available to participants.
