The girls addressed as gentle souls in Kazakh language. However numbers of girls among people who are fond of horses is not small at all. One of them is Galiya Tarasova.
This beautiful girl who is 21 years old today is trying to develop this national sport and participates in various competitions.
– Galiya, you are a girl who fights shoulder to shoulder with children, runs on horseback. How did you get acquainted with this type of sport?
– i learned to ride a horse when I was 18. I’ve been riding horses ever since then. When I was at the university, members of the student club “Sarbaz ruh” came to me and invited me to join their club. Later, when I participated in the elections and qualified for the club, I discovered a part of my self. At the moment, there are only 3 girls left in the team. Our manager Asel Alisherova and our acrobatics coach Kuvan Sopubekov, as our mentors, taught us to sit properly on the horse, ride freely, jump, perform acrobatic tricks from the very beginning. I fell off the horse many times in the beginning. It took me more than 1 year to fully master everything.
– Do you compete often?
– Yes, because from the moment I hear the word horse, my eye sees nothing but a horse. So far, I have performed at national and international competitions. Among them, the III Decennial, held in Kyrgyzstan in 2018 and The World Nomadic Game, the “Face of Traditions” festival held in Poland in 2019 are just a few of the tournaments I participated in. I took second place in one of them, and in the other I received the “audience award”.
– Great! Do you take care of your horse yourself?
– I believe that the care of the horse is a tradition and art which is left to us from our ancestors and take care of him myself in my free time. Taking off the saddle and putting on the running gear all of them I am doing myself . I train with my horse. Actually, our horses also have stables and special keepers, but I like to take care of them myself.
– How can I learn to ride a horse fast?
– First of all, you have to get to know the horse and connect with him. Talk to him, feed him with your hands and sit confidently on the horse. Horses feel everything. You shouldn’t be hard on him. In this regard, it is very important to learn how to control the horse correctly. You have to work hard and make an effort. In the end, you will see the reward for your efforts.
