The security elements of the 5,000 tenge banknote in the 2023 design are highlighted to help individuals distinguish genuine banknotes from counterfeit ones:
- Relief Printing: The banknote employs a special type of printing, creating a relief effect known as gold intaglio. The coat of arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan is applied using a high-relief layer of golden metallic paint.
- High-Relief Elements: Convex high-relief elements along the edges of the front side are tactile and serve as a label for individuals with low vision.
- Two-Color Security Thread: A diving two-color security thread features dotted lines visible on the surface, forming a continuous thread in transmitted light. Changing the angle produces a dynamic pulsation effect with red and blue colors.
- Protective Element – Golden Eagle Patch: The front side includes a three-dimensional image of a stylized golden eagle, acting as a patch. Rotation of the banknote results in the image switching between the denomination figure and an ornament, accompanied by dynamic rays diverging from the solar sign.
- Iridescent Paint: Individual artistic elements are adorned with a special golden-shine iridescent paint.
- Local Watermark – Electrotype: A local watermark in the form of an electrotype becomes clearly visible in transmitted light, presenting an image of the denomination.
- Spark Element: The reverse side features a three-dimensional Spark element with an image of the Golden Eagle artifact. Changing the angle of the banknote alters the Spark’s color from gold to jade.
The National Bank encourages individuals to perform a quick check of these security features, which only takes a few seconds, aiding in the determination of banknote authenticity.
