Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has reached out to Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, extending an invitation for discussions on Sweden’s potential accession to NATO
Orban, in a communication via his X (formerly Twitter) page, shared, “Today I sent a letter to Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson inviting him to visit Hungary to negotiate Sweden’s accession to NATO.”
This development comes on the heels of a parliamentary debate in Türkiye on January 23 regarding Sweden’s application to join NATO. The extensive discussion spanned four hours, resulting in a decisive vote with 287 deputies in favor, 55 against, and 4 abstentions.
