Mi-8 Military Helicopter Crashes in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
A Mi-8 military helicopter crashed today on the outskirts of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, operating flight 203 at the Frunze-1 airbase.
The incident resulted in casualties, TuraNews.kz reports citing Kabar.
The crash occurred at 10:55 local time, and the fate of the crew remains unknown. “Kyrgyz air navigation” informed the agency about the Mi-8 military helicopter’s emergency crash during training flights.
The Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed the incident, stating that the helicopter, belonging to the country’s Air Defense Forces, experienced an emergency hard landing, leading to injuries. Officials from the Ministry of Defense and the Northern Military District are actively working to investigate and clarify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
