Celebrating the 111th Anniversary of Dinmukhamed Kunaev’s Birth

On January 12, Kazakhstan marked the 111th birthday of Dinmukhamed Kunaev, a well-known figure in Kazakhstan, TuraNews.kz reports.

Born in Almaty in 1912, Kunaev was an important person in our country. He studied mining engineering in Moscow and later took on different roles, like being the head of the Communist Party and the Council of Ministers for nearly 30 years. During this time, Kazakhstan experienced a big economic boost, especially in industries like farming, where a lot of grain was produced each year.

Kunaev’s influence reached many areas. He played a big part in developing energy complexes, power plants, and other factories. Important projects like the Mangystau oil fields and railway expansion also happened under his leadership.

Apart from economic progress, Kunaev cared about culture and education. He supported scientists, writers, artists, and intellectuals. A significant achievement during his time was the publication of a 5-volume book on Kazakhstan’s history.

Kunaev’s name is remembered through various places and institutions named after him, like the Institute of Mining and streets in different cities. His many writings on socialism, communism, and mining are still studied today.
