Earthquake Strikes Kyrgyz-Tajik Border: Magnitude 3 Quake Reported

A seismic event with a magnitude of 3 at its epicenter has been recorded on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, TuraNews.kz reports citing the Kabar agency.

The Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic states that the earthquake’s epicenter is situated on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, specifically in the mountains of the Zaalai ridge. It is positioned 11 km southeast of the village of Achyk-Suu and 132 km southwest of Osha.

Fortunately, the tremors were not felt in densely populated areas of Kyrgyzstan, providing relief to local residents. The seismic activity serves as a reminder of the ongoing geological dynamics in the region.
