Turkmenistan Approves 2024 Calendar of Exhibitions and Fairs

Turkmenistan has officially endorsed the schedule for exhibitions, fairs, conferences, and festivals for the year 2024.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution, emphasizing the importance of organizing these events at a high organizational level. Ministries and departments are entrusted with ensuring the successful execution of the planned activities.

2. Positive Assessment of Turkmen-Russian Relations in 2023

Turkmen National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov engaged in a telephone conversation with Valentina Matvienko, the head of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Both leaders positively assessed the development of Turkmen-Russian relations in 2023, emphasizing increased cooperation in political, trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres. Trade and economic collaboration, along with socio-cultural interaction, were identified as key priorities.

3. Young Turkmen Figure Skaters Shine in New Year’s Show

In celebration of the New Year, young Turkmen figure skaters captivated residents and guests of Ashgabat with a vibrant show program. The Winter Sports Sports Complex hosted the performance featuring skaters aged six to 17. Father Frost and Snow Maiden took center stage, bringing fairy-tale characters to life. Skaters showcased their talents to Turkmen and international music, spreading the festive spirit with New Year songs in various languages.

4. New Autodromes Planned Across Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan is set to construct new autodromes in Geokdepe etrap of the Ahal velayat, as well as in the cities of Balkanabat, Dashoguz, Turkmenabat, and Mary. The Turkmenavtoulaglary agency reported ongoing purchases of vehicles, electronic training equipment, and other materials necessary for the development of these race tracks.

5. Turkmenistan-EU Joint Committee Discusses Economic Cooperation

The Turkmen delegation, led by Minister of Finance and Economy Serdar Joraev, engaged in discussions on economic cooperation with the European Union during the 22nd meeting of the joint committee in Brussels. Key topics included Turkmenistan’s macroeconomic situation, efforts to join the World Trade Organization, gas exports, initiatives to reduce methane emissions, and the development of renewable energy sources.

6. Gara Altyn Triumphs in Turkmenistan Futsal Cup Final

The final of the Turkmenistan Futsal Cup unfolded in Ashgabat, featuring a competitive match between Kopetdag and Gara Altyn teams. The contest, held at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports complex, concluded with a 3:0 victory for “Gara Altyn.”

7. Yunus Kurbanov to Face Sergei Seliverstov in Pravda Boxing Tournament

Moscow is set to host the upcoming Pravda Boxing tournament at the International Boxing Center in Luzhniki. Among the participants is Yunus Kurbanov from Turkmenistan, who is anticipated to engage in a compelling middleweight division battle against Russian boxer Sergei Seliverstov. This marks Kurbanov’s second appearance in Pravda Boxing tournaments, following his successful debut against Dmitry Andreev.
